My grandfather, Don Jarchow (we called him Pops), started Gambler’s General Store in the early '80s and worked a lot with old Vegas guys. My dad, Kevin, followed in Pops’ footsteps and started Casino Discount Products In the early 2000s after working for Pops for awhile.
On the other side, my other grandfather, Richard Larsen, and his wife, Linda, started Vision sign. They created signs all around Las Vegas, and it became a family business, with my mom, Trina, working there for a few years. I grew up around both of these influences and got me interested in old Vegas. Lucky Luciano, the Rat Pack, Sam “Lefty” Rothstein, that kind of stuff. I feel because of both sides of my family, I’ve almost Inherited old Vegas culture, which is some of the most fascinating culture ever. It’s important to remember your roots, because they are part of what defines you.
I love reading, writing, and playing lacrosse. Ever since I read the Harry Potter books, I’ve wanted to be an author. I see myself as a pretty normal guy who’s looking for the full college experience. I’m still deciding on whether I should join a fraternity or the lacrosse team, though.
In the future, I see myself either as an author or a lawyer, or maybe even both. Both careers seem pretty interesting to me and both pay well if I work hard.
