When I feel stuck, in a rut, or uninspired it stinks! I’m sure you’ve felt it too. There are times I feel like I’m just waking up every day going through the motions of living and it drives me crazy! Don’t get me wrong, I do like to have my routines. However, I like to incorporate change within my routines in different ways. I know that seems a little odd for someone with anxiety, but for me change keeps me from wanting to lie in bed all day. Sometimes I’ll experiment with a fun, colorful make-up look or find some interesting, new recipe to make for the day. Other times, just going outside and taking a walk does the trick. The world is never the same twice. Exploring variety doesn’t have to be elaborate, just anything that makes me feel productive really makes me happy. Exploring new places is fun to me whether it’s around my home town or a place I’ve never been. Every time I travel, I like to look up the locals’ favorite restaurants or museums. They’re often off the beaten path and not so full of visitors. I enjoy searching cool spots to create photos and getting to know new people too. The world is filled with so much and so many interesting humans. I can only describe exploring as something that makes me feel like a part of something larger than myself and like I’m growing in love and creativity at the same time I’m spreading it and learning new things.
Having the same hairstyle for a long time gets a bit boring. I like to change up my looks. In fact, I like change. I liked my long, curly hair and so did so many other people. It was time to play though! I was on the verge of graduating and embarking on a new life, so why not! My mom, Laura Beth and I came up with the idea over coffee when we met do schedule and plan for my session. I actually was trying to decide if I wanted to cut it before the session date or wait and do it afterwards. At almost the same time, the three of us said, “Hey! Let’s do a half and half!” I went online and explored salon’s that looked interesting in the Shreveport area and found one with a website that caught my attention! I made contact and that was set! It made a few people sad to see the long hair go, but I couldn’t help it. There was just something freeing and fun about cutting off more than an inch or two that is absolutely freeing!
I love to read almost anything from poetry to fiction. It’s a way of exploring without even having a travel budget! Cooking healthy meals and working out are also passions of mine. There will never be a shortage of recipes to try or invent for that matter. Make up…what more can I say? I love playing around with it from soft and natural to vibrant and eccentric. While I’m passionate about all these things, music sets the stage for them all. It’s the perfect thing to softly play as I travel through a book. It’s the best to jam with dancing in the kitchen or creating a new look for myself. These things keep me happy and my creativity sparked and flowing.
I see myself in this world as someone who will help change the bad and add some good each place I go. I would love to help animals and/or people in need. I picture myself creating photos of people and places professionally while continuing my love for make-up and practicing that skill on my models. I’m sure I’ll also be volunteering at rescue shelters and helping the strays and injured animals of the planet find homes. Maybe some of those homes will be with the hurting people of the world I’ll help.
