You've had quite the battle with your health. Tell us more about how this has affected you personally.
Let me start with my health could be much much worse and although it sucks sometimes I am very grateful I don't have it worse. I have HSP (a kidney disease), Asthma, VVS (makes me pass out), Adrenal Insufficiency, SMA (stomach disease) and low iron. I also suffered from Toxic Shock Syndrome when I was 13. My poor health has affected me personally senior year more than any past years. I have been in and out of the hospital or in the ER almost every month. This has caused me to miss football games, volunteering opportunities, work and it even caused me to miss going down to cheer nationals. I would say the hardest part of my health is watching my friends do things that I should be able to do but the pain is too much.
Tell us more about yourself.
Apart from my poor health I love working with kids. I work at church in childcare and leading worship for children. I also enjoy working with kids and young adults with special needs. I PCA for an 18 year old boy with Down Syndrome and volunteer with a second grader who also has Down Syndrome. Apart from work I enjoy being outside and I love being at school.
Something that I am really passionate about is everyone being a little bit kinder, I have a project at my school called candy and kindness where I bring a big bucket of candy to school on Monday’s to pass out to anyone who needs some!
