Struggle with Perfectionism. Tell us how this has has affected you reaching your goals - the good and the bad.
Perfectionism has been what has driven me my whole life. In my opinion, it is the yin and the yang in my life. The good and the evil. I am driven and goal oriented but perfectionistic tendencies can drive me into the ground at times. I would not give up my passion for the things I love, such as, photography, writing and teaching for the world, but it has benefited me to learn how to slow down. None of us is perfect and learning that it’s okay to have flaws and to embrace these flaws has made me a stronger woman.
Tell us more about yourself.
I am many things. I am a daughter, a best friend, a student, a sister, a leader and a teacher. I am many more things as well. But, mostly I am a result of my passion. When I love something or someone there is nothing that can stop me from reaching my goals. Currently, I am a student teacher and I am working with eighth graders. I am teaching them about the power of the written word and this is my passion. There is nothing we can’t do if we own our voice and one of the best ways we can do this is to write. I share this belief in the power of writing with everyone in my life from my sorority sisters to my friends and family. There is nothing you can’t do if you can write.
